First public demo - at DePaul's Jarvis Center's Innovation Showcase

The Matters at Play team got the art, story, and even (some) sound together in time for its first public demo of "Keys to a DREAM" for the DePaul Jarvis Center's Innovation Showcase on May 21, 2025. Tereza Lee herself had given feedback on this version of the story and provided a recording of her nimble fingers flying across the piano keys. Play to hear her 'perform' and share her immigration story as an undocumented and talented music student.
Many DePaul students and showcase guests played this build, including an incoming student, who played from start to end with her whole family (2 siblings and their father) reading and playing along. She shared that it was really engaging way to learn about important history that she was unfamiliar with.
It was an introduction for many guests to experience a visual novel about underrepresented history, and in this case, one that is still so relevant more than 20 years since Tereza confided in Ann Monaco about her immigration status in August 2000.
